Hello Positivos,

You won’t believe how beautiful Positivo Day was this year, on saturday the 28th of November, from 10 am until 11.30 pm under the sun of Inhambane, Mozambique, until you see our pictures in the gallery. Here was the program :

10 am – 1 pm : Installation of Positivo Stage and VIP cage between Casa da Cultura and Cine-Teatro Tofo with the help of all positivos. Group arrivals from Inharrime, Massinga, Inhacoongo.

1-2 pm : Pop-videos and Workshops Slideshows in Cine-Teatro Tofo for specific Positivo groups from Inharrime, Massinga, Inhacoongo, and the choral group from the municipality of Inhambane.

2 – 2.30 pm : Everybody getting together in front of Cine-Teatro Tofo. Start of lunch facilities.

2.30 – 3.10 pm : March in the streets of Inhambane with the active participation of 300 persons, including the President of the municipality, the Head of Health Department, Positivo groups from schools and fabrics visited in 2009, the choral group from the municipality, the choral group from ICAP and all major artists from the city. Percussions, saxophone and singing the Positivo song “Vamo-la, vamo-la, vamo-la, fazer o teste”.

3.20 – 4 pm : Cine-Teatro Tofo official movie program, with the presence of the President of the Municipality and the Head of Health Department of Inhambane.

4 pm – 11.30 pm : Outside stage program

Our program eventually finished around 11.30 pm with a DJ and all positivos helping taking down the stage. Around 30 people got tested and some of them also gave their blood in specific tents installed in the garden. 180 meals were distributed to participants. 300 persons marched and sang in the streets. 1500 danced at the concert on the official stage.

Positivo Team were very very very happy and exhausted at the end of the day. We believe that this major event played a great role in improving life conditions and fighting discrimination linked to HIV-AIDS in Inhambane and other cities from the province, where some Positivo groups were coming from. And we certainly believe that 2009 is coming to an end as a sucessful year for our association. In the next days, Positivo will attend World Aids Day celebrations in Massinga, where we should play another concert and receive a prize rewarding our management and project practices. Then we will prepare 2010 and go on holidays.
