Hello Positivos,
We finally went back to Massinga School in October this year, where 500 students attended a powerful concert – thanks to the pedagogical director of the school, who managed to get all the kids together and even chairs for them to sit down.
All right, apart from the little “Lyzza James Like” moment our main singer had trying to communicate his joy through a telephone and a microphone at the same time (we will forgive him next year), the show was a great success. Why ? How ? Check the pictures in the Gallery (Positivo 2009/Massinga/Massinga last visit) and read what follows.
We arrived at 13.30 and set up the equipment on the sport field. At 13.50, we distributed song lyrics and informed the kids they will have to judge the music produced in their own school, by their colleagues. At 14.15 we played a little song. At 14.20 we distributed papers for them to give their advice on the music. At 14.25 the newly formed Positivo group of Massinga performed the song in front of the crowd, then performed it a second time. The most powerful moment happened when the handicaped kid got out of his wheelchair and stood up to sing from a higher point of view. At 14.45 all kids went to the garden where Dave Sangue Bom shot the pop video. At 15.00 everybody went back to class, giving back their adivce on the music in the positivo box.
Now what is missing ? On the way out from the school, we left 6 enveloppes and 270 questionnaires to evaluate the results of our work. Teachers are supposed to distribute them, and us to come and collect a few days later. Then we will will enclose ourselves in the positivo office and crunch these datas, before coming back to you for the result, is that all right ? Dave Sangue Bom is editing the pop video. As soon as we get it, we’ll show it on TV, all right too ? By the way, in Massinga, the song is already on the radio. You can trust the kids for that.
Oh yes, now I know what is missing : a big hug to claudia, who took a day off to drive us. Unbelievable.
Tschüss.
Grüss.
