Music styles of Homoine and Maxixe

Music arrangements were recorded and mixed by Roland Pickl and Helio D in Inhambane before and after the workshops. The song ‘Vamos-la’ is a hip-hop song. ‘Uma noite de prazer’ belongs to mozambican style Tsucuta, a mix of traditional Marrabente and Panza with RnB. The students themselves asked for this style of music. One girl wished ‘the whole world will discover our powerful style’. Positivo explores all traditional music rhythms in Mozambique and develops their connections to modern sound. Arrangements were played in workshops to give inspiration to the pupils.

After the workshop in Homoine, we presented 2 songs to Radio Moçambique in Inhambane. They liked the project and offered us a partnership. Positivo talks now 20-30 minutes every week on Radio Moçambique 105.1, on Fridays between 1 and 2 pm, to present songs and news about the project. The first two appearances happened on the 21st and 28th of September. Radio Moçambique wants to extend this cooperation.
